On 27 and 28 September 2023, in Fornells, the Salinas de la Concepción presented the restoration. They had stood still for decades. The harvest had returned in 2018. The place still had to be opened.
People came from food, from local produce, from culture, from heritage and from the land. Officials. The press.
The Best family, concession holders of Ses Salines Noves, received them with the architect Dani Gutiérrez, the engineer Guillermo Casas and the master salt worker Haddou Ichekhlaf. They walked the ground. They told how fleur de sel and virgin sea salt are gathered by hand.
Laura Ruiz was announced as manager. And that in spring 2024 the pans would open to the public: guided visits, by reservation, in limited numbers.
That is already the case. You book the visit. The place is the same one.
