NATURE CONSERVATION
The La Concepción salt flats are a natural reserve, home to a wide variety of plants and birds.
Several plant species, such as glasswort, sea blite, and seagrass meadows, have adapted to the harsh combination of wind, high salinity, rocky areas, and wetlands.
The salt flats also provide a perfect habitat for endemic birds and a safe wintering area for herons, flamingos, great cormorants, and various species of ducks.
